Emotions Vocabulary

🎯 B2 Level 🇬🇧 🇺🇦 Bilingual 📱 For Teens

Why Emotion Vocabulary Matters

Using precise emotion words instead of just "happy," "sad," or "angry" makes your English sound richer and more natural — and it's a great way to boost your IELTS Speaking and Writing score.

🎯 We'll group emotions by energy level (calm vs intense) and feeling (positive vs negative).

The Emotion Map

Every emotion has two dimensions: how positive/negative it is, and how much energy it has.

High Energy
Low Energy
😄 Excited, Ecstatic, Fuming
😡 Enraged, Stressed, Shocked
😌 Content, Serene, Relaxed
😞 Miserable, Drained, Down

🎓 "Before exams I get restless, but after them I feel relieved and content."

🎉 "Our team won, and everyone was ecstatic!"

Common Mistakes

❌ "I am boring." → ✅ "I am bored."

❌ "I very happy." → ✅ "I am very happy." / "I'm really happy."

❌ "I feel myself tired." → ✅ "I feel tired."

Speaking Tip 🎤

Instead of always saying "happy" or "sad," try upgrading your vocabulary: "I was ecstatic when I got my results" sounds far more advanced than "I was happy." Examiners notice a wide range of precise emotion words — perfect for IELTS Speaking Part 2 & 3!
